HALF DAY WORKSHOP
Join us for a half day workshop that focuses on how to think outside the square and overcome obstacles for interior design. Whether its budget, existing building restraints or space limitations most interior design involves working with problems. The art of interior design is about developing a skill set that prevents these problems from inhibiting and instead finds ways to overcome them and create ways to enhance the space despite them. In this half day workshop Vonda gives insight into spaces she has transformed not only on a budget but also that overcame obstacles that were initially seen as a problem. This workshop gives real world solutions with a hands-on approach that students can utilize in their own home or personal/professional project.
What we will cover:
How to overcome problems within interiors
Altering a space using colour – from colour saturation to mood altering palates
Introducing architectural pieces to create scale and grandeur
Clever ways to work with not against existing obstacles
Creating the illusion of space within small rooms and defining areas in large rooms
How to fix lighting issues to create an atmospheric space
Solutions to soften acoustics issues
About your host –
Vonda Mason is an interior designer and stylist based in Tasmania. With an unconventional approach to design and an intuitive ability to think outside the box, she has created unique and inspiring spaces across many different sectors. Founder of Mr. Wolf home & garden store in Devonport, owner & designer of the ‘Tasmanian Food & Wine Conservatory’ & ‘Tasmanian General Store’, her visual merchandising and storytelling abilities carries through in her design work.
The day –
A half day workshop held at the scenic Tasmanian food and Wine Conservatory in Sassafrass, Tasmania. The day will include a mixture of practical demonstrations, hands on exercises and informative discussion, followed by a debrief with a glass of bubbles. Light lunch, morning and afternoon tea will also be included.
